Miley Cyrus is taking back that apology she made 10 years ago after her controversial Vanity Fair photoshoot.

Miley is really taking us back with this one.

10 years ago when Miley was 15 and still on Disney Channel, she posed for Vanity Fair in a photoshoot that caused a lot of drama at the time because she only had a sheet covering her front.

The photo created a whirlwind of negativity from parents who relied on the Hannah Montana star to be an idol for their children.

In a statement to PEOPLE back in 2008 she said QUOTE, “I took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be ‘artistic’ and now, seeing the photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed. The pictures of me on the internet were silly, inappropriate shots. I appreciate all the support of my fans, and hope they understand that along the way I am going to make mistakes and I am not perfect. I never intended for any of this to happen and I am truly sorry if I have disappointed anyone.”

She continued to say that she let herself down and that she would learn from her mistakes.

But 10 years later she feels differently, as ya do when 10 years pass. On Sunday she tweeted a photo of the New York Post cover from April 28th 2008 that read, “MILEY’S SHAME” and she captioned it QUOTE, “IM NOT SORRY F*** YOU #10yearsago”

She also shared the photo to her Instagram followers.

After this take back, some people are claiming that she was coerced into apologizing back then in the hopes of smoothing over her Disney image. As a 15 year old, we can only imagine the pressure she was getting on all fronts to say something that would calm the bad press, whether she meant it or not. But even the renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz apologized at the time.
